(Central Nervous System) Updated at 7:00 pm Sunday: Shavan Claude Brown, wanted in connection with a drug boat found south of Cayman Brac on Thursday, remains at large, the RCIPS said. However, based on police reports and other operations related to the search for Brown, police and Customs and Border Control officers conducted an operation at a residence on Fish Bowl Loop in Bluff on Sunday, arresting two people.
The occupants of the residence, a man and a woman, were arrested for possession and use of marijuana.
Brown has not been found. Police ask the community to monitor his whereabouts and call 911 if they spot him. The public is strongly urged not to approach Brown if they have reason to believe he may be armed.
The fugitive was identified through information and sightings from the community. Earlier this weekend, police believed the man was Xavier Watson. However, they now say Watson is no longer wanted in connection with this investigation.
Police say further action will be taken by the community as law enforcement officers continue their pursuit of Brown. A search coordination command centre has been established and armed RCIPS officers from Grand Cayman remain on Brac searching for Brown, with support also provided by the CBC and the Department of Environment (DoE).
Police advise boat owners to ensure the safety of their vessels.
The RCIPS thanks the Brac community for their support and for all the information provided so far in the pursuit of this wanted man. If anyone knows of Brown’s whereabouts, please call 911 immediately.
