Armenia has the right to defend itself, the right to buy weapons from France or other countries, but this move by France has brought a new stimulus to the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as we are close to a peace agreement. Ambassador James Warlick, former US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, made these remarks during the program “The Power Factor” of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Having said that, the facts are what they are. Armenia has the right to defend itself, it will continue to have an army, it will not disband, and it will protect its borders from any external threats. It is unfortunate that this matter was dragged into the middle of it as we were close to a peace agreement, further complicating the negotiations,” the former U.S. diplomat said.
