St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – Four students from Irelandtown Primary School and Tucker Clark Primary School have been named 2024 William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund recipients. The awards ceremony took place on June 18 and recognized these students for their academic achievement, financial need, character and community involvement.
2024 Awards Ceremony
During the award ceremony, it was introduced that 18 students applied for the scholarship in 2024. While academic performance is a criterion, the scholarship also emphasizes financial need, character and community involvement.
Prior to announcing the 2024 NATA Scholars, the Scholarship Committee confirmed 14 other applicants. Each applicant received a thank you letter, including Elzeva Cuffy’s IT Matters Life Skills Handbook, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of excellence. The 14 recognized applicants are:

2024 NATA Scholars
The Scholarship Committee is proud to announce four recipients who embody the qualities of a NATA Scholar. Each scholar received a trophy, a $200 gift certificate redeemable at Schools Apex Co-operative, a $200 gift certificate redeemable at Laws Bookstore, and a $100 grant to open a savings account at First Federal Credit Union. First Federal Credit Union also matched the $100 grant, enabling each scholar to open their own savings account with $200.
Tikkilia Henry
Tikylia Henry, 11, a sixth-grade student at Irishtown Primary School, was recognized for her outstanding behavior and hard work. She dreams of becoming a doctor and helping others overcome illness. Tikylia is also a dancer and a member of the KAC Children’s Dance Company.
Tasinia Thomas
Tasinia Thomas, 11, a pupil at Irishtown Primary School, loves learning new things. Despite living in St Christopher’s Children’s Home and missing her mother, she is trying to make the best of her situation. She plans to use the scholarship to buy more books and participate in extra-curricular activities.
Karianna Rollins
Kaliyanna Rawlins is a 12-year-old girl from Tucker Clark Elementary School who lives with her sister in a single-parent home. She has learned to be grateful and understand her mother’s hardships. Kaliyanna aspires to study law in college.
Jahmali Anton
Jamali Anton is a sixth grader for Newtown United’s under-13 football team. He likes maths. His family was kicked out of their home a year ago and now lives with their grandfather. The 11-year-old is determined to provide financial support for his family.
Marine biologist and MPA manager Tricia King delivered the keynote address. Roger Woodley, deputy chief education officer at the Department of Education, also gave a brief speech to the students.
The William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 and continues to support and encourage students through its annual scholarships.
