The former Russian Consulate in Varna will become a kindergarten after the municipality took over the management of the property. The building is not far from the municipality and was built in 1980, BGNES reported. The entire building area is nearly 5,000 square meters, with 990 square meters on two floors.
The ground floor houses the reception desk for documents and two halls whose facades are well preserved with wooden panelling and plasterwork. One of the halls houses a cinema.
The Mission’s offices are located on the second floor.
The Varna Municipality planned to transform the property primarily by building a kindergarten with a nursery group. To do this, a complete redesign of the site, a thorough renovation, and construction and installation activities were required, taking into account that the purpose of the building was to meet the educational needs of children.
Before the renovation begins, the city government plans to organize an open day to give citizens the opportunity to visit the former diplomatic building from the inside.
