Sol Bamba, former football player and coach, has died at the age of 39.
Bamba was playing for Turkey’s Adanas Sports Club at the time. It was reported that Bamba fell ill before the team’s game last night and died after being sent to the hospital.
Bamba is a very popular footballer who has played for teams such as Leicester City, Leeds United, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough.
Leeds United released a statement saying: “You will always be in our hearts.”
He has since played 46 international matches for Côte d’Ivoire.
In 2021, Bamba was diagnosed with cancer while playing for Cardiff City, but returned to the field after successful chemotherapy.
