Muscat: As part of a royal order, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has started distributing electronic sensors and insulin pumps for measuring blood sugar levels to Omani children under the age of 18 suffering from type 1 diabetes.

Notably, the Royal Order approved the annual budget of the Ministry of Health to provide electronic sensor devices for measuring blood sugar levels and insulin pumps to children with type 1 diabetes, especially preschool and preschool children.

These sensors are one of the latest technological and advanced ways to reduce symptoms caused by blood sugar disorders as they allow for accurate monitoring, thereby reducing the complications of this disease.

Type 1 diabetes cannot be cured. Nevertheless, the use of advanced medical methods and modern technologies allows the occurrence of serious complications in children to be controlled and managed, thereby improving the quality of life. This helps them to be able to coexist with the disease, practice the details of normal life, and participate in various school and social activities.

Given the difficulties some people with diabetes face in receiving traditional treatments that rely heavily on insulin injections, the royal order provides these modern technologies to children and students with diabetes, with the aim of providing support to them and their families.
