Five Bulgarian citizens have carried out the largest fraud in UK history. More than £54 million has been claimed by individuals through thousands of benefit claims.

Ali, Nikolova and her boyfriend Stoyan Stoyanov, 27, were arrested on May 5, 2021, along with Tsvetka Todorova, 52, and Patritsia Paneva, 26.

Investigators found bags filled with company products, luxury watches and piles of money at their homes.
For their actions, the five Bulgarians were sentenced to a total of more than 25 years in prison.
Nikolova was sentenced to eight years in prison. Her lover Stoyanov (called Stoyanov by the judge) “Trustworthy subordinates”was sentenced to 4 years’ imprisonment.
Ali will serve seven years and three months in prison, Paneva was sentenced to three years and two months, and Todorova was sentenced to three years.
