The statement said the fire started on the facade of the 26th floor, and videos on social networks showed that the fire and smoke had spread to a wider area.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that 16 vehicles and 72 firefighters had arrived at the scene, Interfax reported.

Rescue workers evacuated eight people, including a child, from the building. No casualties have been reported so far.

Turkey’s Anadolu news agency reported that the fire had been brought under control, adding that it covered 180 square metres.
