Final statement text and vision of Sudanese political forces at the end of Addis Ababa consultations

The African Union-convened meeting of Sudanese political and civilian forces in Addis Ababa approved preparatory steps for a post-war Sudan-Sudan dialogue, implicitly isolating the former ruling National Congress Party, forming a caretaker government and unifying Sudan’s military establishment. Observers promised that the participants would benefit from it, but said no progress was made towards a national consensus.

The conference began on July 10 with the participation of more than 20 blocs, political parties, and civil and youth groups, most of which support the Sudanese army, especially the Free and Armed Forces, and ended in the Ethiopian capital on July 10. Change – the Democratic Bloc led by Jafar Mirghani, the National Movement Bloc led by Tijjani Sisi, and the National Consensus led by Mubarak Fadil Mahdi.
