The Fayoum International Film Festival management has announced that it will be open to films in the fields of environment, climate and contemporary art, accepting films that participated in the first official competition of the festival, preparing for the selection of films for the second competition. The first session will take place from November 25 to 30 next year, and the festival committee has agreed to hold it, which is an important beginning for a festival that cares about the environment and climate.
Fayoum Film Festival management revealed that the festival includes two official competitions, the first is the feature film competition and the second is the short film competition. The deadline for receiving entries is October 30.
The Fayoum Festival Management held a working meeting with the Fayoum Governor Dr. Ahmed Ansari to prepare for the festival to be held in the governorate. The Governor extended great cooperation and support to the festival and its management and stressed the importance of hosting different artistic and cultural showcases on the land of the governorate. The Festival Management also thanked Fayoum University and all the executive agencies of the governorate for coming out in an honorable manner to participate in the festival.
The festival management includes director Hani Lashin (Festival President), director Sayed Abdel Khaleq (Festival Director), writer and critic Issam Zakaria (Festival Artistic Advisor), writer and critic Nahed Salah (Festival Artistic Director), artist Ahmed Magdi (Festival Advisor and Board Member), festival vice-president Dr. Samir Shahin and festival secretary general Nermin Amer.
Festival Artistic Director, critic Nahed Salah said that the Fayoum Film Festival will bring surprises to the Egyptian and Arab film community, and that the festival administration has long been cooperating with the Fayoum Governorate, Fayoum University and Fayoum University. The Ministry of Culture will organize a different festival that includes many cultural events held in different ways, in addition to working to ensure… a unique and different film program from all over the world carefully selected by a panel of film experts.
It is worth noting that the Fayoum International Environment, Climate and Contemporary Art Film Festival is co-organized by the Massar Foundation for Culture and Arts and Fayoum University, and is held with the support of the Fayoum Governorate and the Ministry of Culture.
