LO, Brexit is underway. I’ve also made my own exit: After writing my last column on Bagehot, I now turn to Germany and its neighbors, because economistNew Berlin bureau chief. That outgoing column conveyed some thoughts on the UK’s current predicament. So now, before handing it over to the new Bagehot, this is my last post on the blog, and I want to go beyond the current state of the country, looking back first to the past and then to the future, summarizing my five years of reporting on the UK and the situation it faces now.
