Sri Lanka PPP MP and business magnate Dhammika Perera has written to Sri Lanka People’s Front General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam informing him of his withdrawal from the Sri Lanka PPP presidential candidate race.
In the letter, Damika Perera said he made the decision for personal reasons. Damika Perera had previously expressed his willingness to become the presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka People’s Party.
Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga said that Sri Lanka People’s Front National Organiser and MP Namal Rajapaksa is likely to be nominated as the Sri Lanka People’s Party presidential candidate
This morning at a function held at the party headquarters at Nelum Mawatha in Battaramulla.
He further stated that Namal Rajapaksa would be nominated as the Sri Lanka People’s Party candidate for the upcoming presidential election with the support of all Rajapaksas.
