Veni Murugan, paraplegic since the age of ten due to a medical error, is a model of resilience and perseverance. The 35-year-old Mauritian has lived in France for 20 years and in 2022 became the French Para Half Marathon Champion. On July 7, she had the honour of carrying the Olympic flame in Dreux. In doing so, she hopes to change the way people think about disability and inspire a new generation to believe in their dreams.
