He said this to reporters after meeting the family members of Sardul Ashis Sourav, who died in the anti-discrimination student movement in Rajarakula area of Chenaigati upazila in Sherpur on Friday (August 16) afternoon.
Syed Emran Saleh said, you have seen that a case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina at the International Criminal Court in Dhaka. Besides this, a case is being prepared to be filed at the International Court of Justice against her for human rights violations. None of these killers will be spared. Not only Sheikh Hasina, but her friends who gave the orders and those who carried them out will also be tried.
He said, “According to Tariq Zia’s instructions, we are visiting graves of the victims of the anti-discrimination student movement every day and meeting their families. We are tired of seeing so many dead bodies. Our mental state is not good. So many dead bodies, so many screams, it really makes us feel different. I can’t find words to sympathize with them.”
He assured to stand with the families of those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement and further said, “If we are able to come to power through fair elections with the support of the people, we will try our best to support them and bless them, and then every district will have a monument, a road in memory of these martyrs.” Or named after a government institution. The eligible people in the family will be given jobs or employment opportunities. In addition to this, I have also started the campaign for prosecution of these murders. Our Legal Aid Committee, District Lawyers Forum and district leaders have been instructed to stay in touch with the families of the deceased and prepare cases in a fair and transparent manner. So that they get justice.
