The EU has stepped up its support for Cambodia’s water sector and plans to expand cooperation in green industry development, research and innovation. This commitment of support and cooperation was expressed during a meeting between Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, H.E. Hem Vandy, and the EU delegation led by EU Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Igor Driesmans, on 28 August 2024. The EU’s commitment to improving and expanding Cambodia’s water infrastructure was demonstrated by the EU’s commitment of a $12 million grant for the Pak Khanh Water Treatment Plant Phase III project during EU Commissioner Urpilainen’s visit to Cambodia in March 2024.
