Nat Sciver-Brunt’s stunning hundred led England to a 178-run win over Pakistan in the third one-day international at Chelmsford.
The all-rounder struck out 124 batters, including 14 fours and two sixes, to help England post an impressive 302-5.
Skiffer-Brent then took 2-11 as Pakistan moved towards the unlikely target of an all-time record score of 124-9, with captain Nida Dar unable to bat due to injury.
Only opening batsman Muneeba Ali’s cool 47 and Aliya Riaz’s 36 offered some resistance to the visitors, while Sophie Ecclestone took 3-15, including her 100th ODI wicket.
The big win gave England a 2-0 win in the ODI series, ensuring the visitors ended their white-ball tour scoreless.
The difference in level between the two sides was most evident in the final match of the series, when despite Pakistan’s overall positive performance, their defence let them down.
Opening hitter Maia Bouchier scored 34 points but was knocked down at 25, Amy Jones was knocked down for six before scoring 27 points, and when Sciver-Brunt scored 86 points, she missed two kills and a receiving opportunity.
The final innings was the most costly, as Seaver-Brent and Alice Capsey, who had previously been unbeaten on 39 runs, launched a 47-run assault in the final three overs.
England’s summer home campaign continues in June against New Zealand, followed by another white-ball series and a trip to Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup in October.
