Job vacancy: Temporary Engineer I (Civil/Structural) (C1)
Eligible Botswana citizens are welcome to apply for the above mentioned Administration of Justice positions.
Qualification: To get appointed for this post, the candidate must possess B.Sc./B.Eng.- Civil Engineering.

Salary level: C1 (P139 872)/year
Holidays: 30 working days per year
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of engineering experience

Main purpose of work
Responsible for civil and structural design, supervision, consulting and other work related to construction projects.
Key Performance Areas

• Regularly update the client on the progress of project expenditure and workmanship.
• Advise clients on client-initiated work changes before and during the project life cycle
Operating procedures
• Issue construction drawings to contractors and maintain a drawing list register
• Inspect, supervise and monitor construction works and report changes to the project team.
• Conduct regular site visits to identify discrepancies and resolve field issues
• Regularly attend briefings of the project team to develop work plans and report on workmanship and take action by issuing instructions to contractors.
• Oversee project implementation to ensure timely completion
• Prepare shortlist of consultants and contractors for consideration by the Tender Committee.
• Evaluate the bids (technical and financial proposals) and make recommendations to the Tender Committee.
• Prepare project progress reports.
Finance and Administration
• Prepare tender documents for design, supervision and construction
• Processing payments to consultants and contractors
• Check the advisor’s expense account against the advisor’s commission conditions
• Query and resolve discrepancies and recommend payment accounts
• Control project finances related to civil/structural aspects
