Eight people have died in an accident on the B1 between Otavi and Otjiwarongo this afternoon.
Maureen Mbeha, a senior inspector of the community policing division of the Otjozondjupa region of the Namibian Police Service, confirmed that eight people had died at the accident site, about 20 kilometres from Otawi.
Initial investigations revealed that all the victims were from a car travelling from Otjiwarongo that collided with an oncoming seven-seater car while overtaking.
Nampol members have now arrived at the site near the B2Gold mine.
