On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the National Judicial Police Brigade, in coordination with the General Directorate of State Surveillance, arrested eight persons aged between 30 and 40 in Fez on suspicion of extortion, forgery, use of forgeries, usurpation of legal identities, one of whom was wanted at the national level.
According to preliminary information, the suspects forged parking tickets with the visual logo of the Municipality of Fez and wore fake uniforms with the name of the same institution, using these tickets to blackmail citizens and car owners and demanding false rights in exchange for the receipt, under the pretext of ensuring the protection of their vehicles and property.
The seizure and search operation revealed a set of counterfeit notes, fake uniforms, caps and vests, as well as cards and seals belonging to private companies that were allegedly used to facilitate this criminal activity.
