East Donegal Pony Club recently enjoyed great success in the Irish Pony Club Championship Qualifiers.
Club members Éabha Brennan, Tara Brennan and Ellie Simms successfully qualified for the Division 6 (Counties Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon and Longford) Championship Qualifying Rounds in Sligo.
Éabha Brennan, competing at Millfields Killnascully, won the Junior CT Jumping and Dressage competitions with the highest score in the dressage test and a strong performance in the jumping round.
In the 1m team showjumping, the trio of Éabha Brennan and Millfields Killnascully, Tara Brennan and BSH Golden Boy and Ellie Simms and Carnone Diamond Beach had a slim chance of winning as they were missing a rider from their four-man team, but this did not stop them and they finished undisputed first in the overall result and topped the leaderboard.
In the individual open show jumping event, Ellie Sims finished third to qualify for the individual championship finals.
The three riders will compete in the Wexford Championship final in a few weeks, representing their clubs and six counties from across the region.
