Damage from storms is becoming more frequent, primarily due to more dangerous weather patterns. Do you know what you are entitled to when your insurance company doesn’t pay you?

Liability insurance for damages caused to others is also an important part,” Eva Jacková said at the beginning.

Interest in this type of insurance Slovakia Insurance companies are increasing interest even after insider cases, such as devastating storms and floods affecting selected locations. There is also interest in modifying existing contracts.

“It seems that people are beginning to realize the importance of such events. However, we regret that the state did not increase the impact of insurance interest as much as possible, but instead made citizens feel that in the case of non-systemic disasters, they will be compensated for the time of care. At the same time, the insurance amount is really negligible compared to the possible damage. pointed out Jack.

How much does insurance cost?

Senna Insurance It depends on the coverage. Whether you only own property or household equipment, the risk and the extent of coverage (the so-called insurance and limits) can all play a role. Insurance premiums for ordinary houses and apartments range from tens to hundreds of euros for annual insurance.

“Price should not be the main criterion when choosing insurance, but rather the range of insurance risk coverage offered by the insurer and the other services the insurer may have – it is quite common that insurers offer assistance services in addition to property insurance, where the customer can, for example, be provided with assistance in the event of a technical failure, a slammed door, the need for immediate replacement of glass fillings, etc.” Revealed the spokeswoman of the Slovak Insurance Company Association.

What is the financial performance that insurance companies pay?

If an insured event occurs, the insurance company will pay the actual loss. This may be the cost of restoring the property before the damage occurred, or the amount of the equipment destroyed or damaged from insurance. familyIn case of total loss, i.e. destruction of the property, the insurance company will pay the insurance amount agreed in the contract.

If an insured event occurs, it is necessary to contact the insurance company as soon as possible and follow its instructions. If it is necessary to remove destroyed or damaged items for safety or hygiene reasons, this must first be documented – by taking a photo or making a video recording.

If the loss is smaller, the insurer will usually give the client a choice of how to pay the insurance benefit – as budgeted or as documented.

Payment by budget means that the insurance company will estimate the amount of the loss based on the submitted documents and its own methodology, and the client will ensure that it is restored to its original state without recording the costs of repairs or recalculating things. He will transfer the estimated amount to the client’s account. However, if the amount of the actual costs exceeds the estimated loss, the insurance company will pay these actual costs – but already based on documents proving the expenses incurred. In the second case, the insurance company compensates the loss based on the submitted documents.

According to the law, the insurance company is obliged to pay the insurance benefits within 15 days after the investigation of the insurance event is completed – that is, after checking the documents, it is known how much to pay to the insured. If the deposit cannot be completed within a month, the insured is entitled to a deposit of the insurance payment, and the insurance company must request a deposit.
