Finland’s current climate and energy policy measures will not achieve its carbon neutrality goal, says a freshman VTT Technical Research Centre:n, Natural Resource Center and Finnish Environment Institute Joint research.

According to Statistics Finland, net greenhouse gas emissions in Finland totalled around 40 million tonnes of CO2e last year. Domestic transport accounted for around 9 million tonnes of CO2e.

The study examined different scenarios taking into account the Prime Minister Sanna Marin Climate measures implemented during the government and climate and energy regulations set by the European Union.
