DNL president Dharm Mungra has nothing good to say about NDP stalwart Marcel Oostburg.
Osterburg severely criticized the judge’s ruling in the case of activist Paquito (the little-known Stefano Biervlit). Monguela reacted strongly to these remarks and condemned Osterburg’s attitude.
“This gentleman is talking about the barbaric robbery of leaders’ democratic rights, which is reminiscent of the situation in Haiti,” Monguela angrily said in an interview with GFC News.
“Why didn’t he immediately invoke the democratic rights of those whose homes, shops and cars were violently broken into and destroyed, and whose property was illegally taken?”
DNL CEO said the recent events had nothing to do with normal protests.
“Open, outrageous racist hate speech and intimidation of certain groups has the potential to lead to anarchy and, ultimately, civil war.”
Mongla said the judges took all of these factors into account when making their decision, condemning Osterburg’s criticism as misguided and stressing the seriousness of the situation.
“None of this has anything to do with normal protests,” the politician concluded. “The judge acted correctly in considering the threat of anarchy and possible civil war.”
