Shockingly, the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) General Council has decided to expel party chairman Dr Ronnie Yearwood and general secretary Steve Blackett, according to a well-informed source.
It is understood the General Council met tonight via Zoom and approved the decision by a majority vote. Neither Blackett nor Yearwood attended the hearing.
However, sources told The Nation that the now former president and former secretary-general had received written invitations three times but did not attend.
In recent correspondence, they were told that the matter would be decided in their absence.
More details to come. This is a developing story. (CLM)
