Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has called on the entire government to resign following President Ruto’s decision to dissolve the entire Cabinet except for the Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, Musalia Mudavadi.

Omtata stressed the need for a complete dissolution of the government in a speech in the Senate on Thursday.

“I heard that the cabinet has been dissolved or something like that, it’s like putting ointment on the wound, our demand and what I believe is that the entire Kenya Kwanza government led by President Ruto must relinquish power,” He asserted.

He stressed that calls for the president’s resignation are not insignificant. “The ball is on him, the call that the president should step down must be enforced. Justice is crying out, our children are dying, this has never happened in this country, the president cannot continue to be in power while children are dying.” Omtatah added.

Omtata said unless the president resigned, no measure would be enough to bring justice to those who died in the protests.

“If the president values ​​this country, he should do the honorable thing and sacrifice himself.” He emphasized.

Meanwhile, the chief secretary will oversee the affairs of the ministries until the new cabinet is formed.

The president announced that the formation of the new cabinet will be based on extensive consultations among all sectors.
