While his relationships with Lucy and the three girls (Agnes, Margo, and Edith) have never been stronger, connecting with the newest member of the family, Gru Junior, proves to be quite a challenge.

“Gru is as busy as ever. Lucy and the girls have been her motivation to be the best person she can be, but with the arrival of little Gru, the family dynamic changes. Gru will adopt the identity of Chuy Godinovski, a bored and somewhat nerdy solar panel salesman who goes undercover while protecting the people he loves. However, living discreetly under his new alias is a stark contrast to his usual life of excitement and danger. Plus, Gru isn’t the best actor at covering up.

As such, the series’ narrative, centered on the unconventional journey of a supervillain-turned-father, and the irrepressible charm of the Minions (who’ve also had a few movies of their own), resonates by celebrating the transformative power of love and family.
