The detective from Miami-Dade Police DepartmentCoastal District has arrested Sarahy Naybeth Parra-Ovalles for her alleged involvement in a “hit-and-run” accident with a mother and a 4-month-old baby.
According to investigators, the victim was trying to cross the intersection of Northeast 7th Avenue and Northeast 191st Street, pushing her 4-month-old son in a stroller and walking her dog, when a car driven by Parra-Ovalles struck her and the baby on Aug. 22, 2024. The collision caused the mother to be knocked to the ground and the baby to fall out of the stroller.
After the accident, Ms. Parra-Ovalles exited the vehicle, turned the stroller upright, and placed the baby back into the stroller before fleeing the scene. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the mother and child to Memorial Regional Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries. Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Ms. Parra-Ovalles. On August 23, 2024, Ms. Parra-Ovalles was arrested and charged with fleeing the scene of a crash and serious bodily injury.
