El Dorado Rum, one of the world’s leading rum brands produced by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), hosted the inaugural El Dorado Rum Heritage Cocktail Competition Global Finals in Guyana from Tuesday, August 20 to Thursday, August 22.
The news was announced in a DDL press release yesterday, which also revealed that the competition had already taken place in its first round, offering bartenders from the United States, United Kingdom, Ontario, Canada and Guyana the opportunity to document their journey and interpretation of the brand’s heritage, which dates back to 1670.
From the regional preliminaries held in these countries, five outstanding finalists emerged to advance to the global cocktail finals to showcase their creativity and mixology skills with El Dorado Rum: Mike Dojcsak (Ontario, Canada), Flavio Francis (Georgetown, Guyana), Jonathan Sierra (Bristol, UK), Jamie Wolfe (California, USA) and Daniel Reiger (New York, USA).
