A woman was given a dose of naloxone after she was arrested by the Guam Police Department for showing signs of a fentanyl overdose. The Guam Police Department issued a news release on Wednesday regarding a traffic stop on Serenu Avenue in Tamuning that resulted in the arrest of three people, including a woman who was allegedly found with approximately six grams of suspected methamphetamine. During the police investigation, when the officer questioned the woman, she “became unresponsive, had a pulsating pulse, and began to convulse.” “An officer realized the woman was showing signs of a possible fentanyl overdose and immediately administered a dose of naloxone. At the same time, a field test result for fentanyl came back presumptive positive; the officer administered a second dose of naloxone,” the Guam Police Department said in the news release. Paramedics from the Guam Fire Department were then contacted for assistance and transported the woman to the emergency room at Guam Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
