Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the appointment of Nyssa Pierre as its new Communications and Media Manager.
A seasoned communications professional from Trinidad and Tobago, Pierre brings over 15 years of regional and international experience to the position, enhancing CWI’s efforts in media and public relations.
Pierre’s academic qualifications include a BA in Communications and Spanish from York University in Canada, an Advanced Diploma in Protocol and Soft Diplomacy from ISPD in Belgium, and a Graduate Certificate in Destination Marketing from Temple University in the United States.
In welcoming Pierre to the team, CWI CEO Johnny Grave highlighted her credentials and the rigorous recruitment process that led to her appointment. “We are delighted that Nyssa Pierre will be joining us as our new Communications and Media Manager. Throughout her career, Pierre has worked with leading West Indies athletes, cricket unions, Olympians and state sporting bodies, cementing her reputation as a skilled communicator in the sport sector. Her experience working in the sport, corporate, aviation and international development sectors has given her a diverse skill set, making her a perfect fit for this new role at CWI.

Speaking about his appointment, Pierre expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the world of sports communications. “My communications career has spanned a variety of industries including corporate, aviation, international development and government consultancy, but I always seem to return to sport. I am honoured to be telling the story of West Indies passion, excitement and determination through our most unifying pastime. Win, lose or draw – we are all one inimitable West Indies and I am delighted to unite as the only way we can.”
Pierre will take up his new role in September and will be based at CWI headquarters at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
