These covers are suitable for mobile phones, plush toys, shoes, trading cards, photo albums and smart watches.

Armed officers of the Financial Services Administration (FS) found nearly 3,000 counterfeit items of well-known brands during a check at a store in Samorin. The covers were for mobile phones, stuffed toys, shoes, trading cards, photo albums and smart watches.

If the goods were sold as they were, their total value would rise to more than 100,000 euros. Iveta Zlochová, spokesperson for the Trnava Customs Service (CÚ), informed of this.

The spokesperson confirmed: “In addition to the destruction of goods, those who want to make a living from well-known brands in an illegal way are threatened with criminal prosecution and a fine of up to €67,000 from customs.”

Customs can impose fines of up to 135,000 euros for repeated violations of the law. She pointed out that counterfeit products can also pose a health hazard due to their design, processing quality or composition.
