Due to a lack of schools and teachers, more than 70,000 children in Kuando Cubango could be excluded from the education system in the next academic year 2024/2025.
The provincial director of education revealed this information this Friday (9th), who considers the situation quite worrying, but according to Inácio Samba, with the eight supported schools and the private school in the city of Menongue later this year.
Inácio Samba said the commissioning of these schools was the result of the last inspection of the province by the Ministry of Education’s supervision team to determine whether these schools had the teaching capacity.
The number of children who could be excluded from the education system is a cause of concern for the mobility of students in Angola, said the National Secretary for Secondary Education, Simão Formiga, and called on the government to look more closely at education in the country.
