The earthquake was felt in Croatia, particularly around Metković, and the ground was also shaken in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake occurred 12 km northwest of Metković, 47 km southwest of Mostar and 12 km east of Neum.
According to preliminary information, the magnitude of the earthquake was 2.9 on the Richter scale.
There are no reports of material damage or injuries so far.
