St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Nevis Prime Minister Mark Brantley has confirmed that a court has ordered Dr. Patricia Bartlett to pay $15,000 immediately, followed by $1,000 per month until the outstanding balance is settled.

Premier Brantley posted on social media today that “The Superior Court has just ordered Dr. Patricia Bartlett of the National Rescue Party to pay $15,000 today and $1,000 per month until her debt to me is paid.”

The issue stems from a court case over the results of last year’s Nevis Island Parliamentary election, which Dr Bartlett contested.

Nevis Reform Party candidate Dr. Patricia Bartlett was initially asked to pay Brantley $55,000 plus 17 percent VAT, WINN FM reported in February.

After multiple court hearings to determine the final amount payable, Chancellor Brantley filed an application for a costs assessment. The case went to court on February 8, 2024, and the final agreed costs were $64,350.00.

Today’s hearing focused on the manner in which Dr. Bartlett paid Brantley.
