Centenary Bank has renewed its support for the 2024 Masaza Cup with a sponsorship of Uganda Shs200 million. This new commitment is in line with the bank’s commitment last year to support the tournament with Uganda Shs600 million over three years.

The competition opens today (Saturday, June 22)ndin 2024, Bulemeezi FC takes on Buluuli FC at Kasana Stadium in Luweero.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Centenary Bank Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Balikuddembe, reiterated the bank’s support for nurturing emerging talents. He called for a spirit of fair competition among the different teams participating this year.

“Our work in the community is not limited to sports, but also includes health, education, environmental protection, church activities and other community activities such as nutrition and construction, among others,” he said.
“I extend my best wishes to all teams participating in this year’s tournament. Please play with passion, integrity and mutual respect. Remember, this game is not only about winning, but also about demonstrating the highest standards of sportsmanship,” he added.

In his remarks, Charles Peter Mayiga, Katikkiro of Buganda, thanked Centenary Bank for its continued support to the Masaza Championship which provides an avenue for young talents to showcase their talents on a recognised platform.
“I am delighted to launch this year’s Masasa Cup where, like every year, young people with hopes and aspirations come together to unite their countries through sports in the hope of showcasing their talents and winning this prestigious tournament,” Maiga said.


“The Masaza Cup would not have been able to achieve as much as it has without the support of partners like Centenary Bank. We hope our athletes will develop this spirit of dedication in their pursuit of victory. Without this level of dedication from our partners, the tournament would not have gained the attention it has received over the years. We would like to thank Centenary Bank for their continued support in the development of local talent and we look forward to continued partnership,” he concluded.
This year, 18 counties will be battling it out to be crowned the Masasa Cup Champion Brameez 2023. The tournament is seen as a platform for participants to showcase their skills while promoting community spirit and camaraderie.
