Comunicaciones played a preparatory match against Honduran Motagua in Hartford, Connecticut, but the match was not completed due to heavy rain.
The game lasted until the 58th minute, when it began to rain heavily, accompanied by thunderstorms. Given the grim prospects, the refereeing staff and the club decided not to continue the game.
