The fintech startup currently has bilateral agreements with the big four banks to provide merchant payment services, but the CEO said more needs to be done.

The Business Commission said the banking industry needed to open up for business as soon as possible.

Despite the Commerce Commission’s emphasis yesterday on open banking to improve competitiveness in New Zealand’s banking market, one major local fintech company – BlinkPay – has put its money where its mouth is and struck a deal with the country’s largest bank.
