The wife of Vasantha Surendra Perera, who was injured in the Aturugiri shooting incident, is in critical condition, hospital sources said.
She was rushed to Homagama Hospital immediately after being shot and was transferred to Kalubowila Hospital due to her condition.
She is currently receiving treatment in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that the gun found in her handbag was an illegal firearm.
Accordingly, the police are investigating the matter.
