The Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics (33rd Summer Olympics) will be held on Sunday from 22:00 to 00:15 at the Stade de France. The flag bearer of the Romanian team will be Mihaela Cambei. The Romanian team finished the 33rd Summer Olympics with three golds, four silvers and two bronzes.

A series of previously recorded footage then showed Cruise riding a motorcycle carrying the Olympic flag down the Champs-Élysées before parachuting from a plane into the Hollywood Hills in a scene reminiscent of Mission: Impossible. The ceremony began with Zaho de Sazagan playing “Paris Skies”. This piece is a tribute to the French capital. Swimmer Leon Marchand took the Olympic flame to the Stade de France. Marchand was a swimming star at the Olympics, winning two gold medals. President Macron also arrived at the stadium, and the French national anthem “La Marseillaise” was now playing.

30,000 police officers were deployed across Paris on Sunday

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said about 3,000 police officers would be deployed around the Stade de France, and an additional 20,000 police and other security personnel would be deployed in Paris and Saint-Denis from late Sunday night to Monday to ensure order on the final day of the Olympics.

More than 10,500 athletes will compete in the Olympics over the next two weeks in Los Angeles. The next Summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in 2028.

The ceremony will mark the end of 17 historic days for the French capital. It will combine the celebrations with the solemn ceremony of the official handover of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to the next host city, Los Angeles 2028.

Performing at the Stade de France

This time, the Stade de France will be transformed into a huge concert hall. The show will have an aerial section, but the huge sets, costumes and amazing lighting effects will take the audience on a journey through time, between the present and the future.

More than 100 dancers, acrobats, circus performers and hundreds of musicians will take part in the ceremony to pay tribute to the public, volunteers and athletes. Tom Cruise will reportedly be among the celebrities attending the ceremony, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish and Snoop Dogg will also perform at the ceremony, ANS reported.
