El Salvador – The cream successfully attracted visitors.

Comunicaciones made their debut at the 2024 Central American Cup, drawing 1-1 at the Estadio Luis Angel Firpo in El Salvador, with goalkeeper Fredy Perez largely responsible for the result.

The Creamers started the match in the best possible way, dominating possession, although they were unable to create options for El Salvador.

The advantage bore fruit in the 12th minute, as Azarias Londoño passed the ball, leaving Carlos Mejia alone, who entered the penalty area and shot at the near post that beat the local goalkeeper.

After this score, everything changed, the Pampelor team woke up and attacked with all their might, Steven Vazquez had the clearest shot, but in front he met Freddy Perez, who saved a cross shot and then headed the ball into the goal.

Vazquez was a nightmare for Alba’s defence as he held on and then fired a long cross in before his header was miraculously blocked by the cream keeper with his feet.

In the second half, the Salvadorans continued to perform well and equalized the score in the 47th minute. Gustavo Souza took advantage of the ball entering the air and shot with his left foot after seeing Perez stop the ball, 1-1.

The match became intense as heavy rain fell at the Estadio Jorge Magico González, with the team trying to fight back with a free kick from Alejandro Prieto, which was denied by the goalkeeper, before Eric Lemus’ bomb hit the crossbar.

On the other hand, the locals did not stop shooting, with Souza testing the saves of Freddy Perez and Steven Vazquez appearing again with a powerful shot that was twice caught by the goalkeeper.

In the end, everything ended in a draw, with both teams earning their first points in Group B. The next day, Comunicaciones will face Alianza, while Luis Ángel Firpo will face the favorite Alajuelense.
