Libreville, Saturday, August 10, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – This was the meaning of the meeting held on August 9 in Libreville between the Minister of Mines, Jules Nembe, and a delegation from the China Northern Mining Consortium, led by the Project Development and Resources Manager, Mr. Zhang Yunxuan.
Just as they had expressed a few days ago to General Blaise Clotaire Origi Nguema the desire to strengthen their partnership with Gabon through cooperation agreements in the oil, mines and civil engineering sectors, officials from China North Industries Corporation have taken action. On Friday, a delegation from their mining sector spoke with the Minister of Mines.
The main issue of this interview, as explained to the Ministry of Mines, is the desire of the consortium to promote the geological heritage of the Gabonese subsoil, in particular the strategic substances of gold and copper, indexed in several sedimentary basins of the national territory, especially since 85% of the national territory remains unexplored.
The Minister of Mines believes that there is no disadvantage for China North Mining Company in developing Gabon’s mining potential, but the Chinese investor will ensure compliance with the Labor Code and respect for the environment, especially in the management of cyanide, which is officially banned in Gabon.
That’s not all. For Jules Nembe, the gold produced must be 100% transformed in Gabon. He and his team say they are ready to support them in meeting this challenge.
Note that Northern Mining specializes in development, construction, and mining operations. It owns large mining projects outside of China and specializes in the mining of a variety of metals including gold, nickel, and cobalt.
