In addition, the CJPASA President called for the establishment of a permanent cooperation framework between Chinese and Ivorian journalists, the diversification of information sources, the facilitation of Chinese and Ivorian media professionals to learn Chinese, and bilateral media dialogues to maximize the training of media personnel and student journalists.

Emmanuel Dulac Houssou, a Beninese journalist, coordinator of CJPASA in Benin and trainer for Africa Express, pointed out the opportunities that media action offers for China-Africa cooperation. “Media action offers important opportunities and good prospects,” he said.

Meetings were held in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 31 and in Johannesburg, South Africa, on August 1 within the framework of the Hongting Forum. However, the first Hongting Forum in Abidjan, West Africa, was organized by the Chinese news agency Xinhua in cooperation with the Union of Professional Journalists in Africa (CJPASA) to strengthen China-Africa relations and Rabot communication.
