Chicago DNC holds pro-Palestinian protest: Letter

Issue: The Democratic National Convention has sparked protests over its stance on Israel’s war with Hamas.

Interestingly, Democrats opposed building a fence on the southern border to protect Americans from an influx of illegal immigrants, but suddenly supported building a fence when it was to protect their rally in Chicago (“Anti-Israel rally that broke through the gates,” August 20).

There appear to be more police in Chicago right now than at the border. But the question remains: Why didn’t the police let these protesters in, as they did at the Capitol on January 6?

Anti-Israel protesters clashed with law enforcement officers during the Democratic National Convention.

The wealthy offspring of the hippies returned to Chicago. The city’s Marxist mayor would go into hiding, protected by the police and the Illinois National Guard.

The walled-off liberal sanctuary city of Chicago — the crime capital of the United States — is hosting the Democratic National Convention, with a full police force deployed to protect attendees, while ordinary citizens are shot in record numbers or left defenseless by thousands of protesters.

So let me be clear: There was essentially no rioting at the Republican convention because the so-called red-green coalition was nowhere to be found. But now there could be chaos at the Democratic convention. That speaks volumes to me.

The group sees an opportunity when some Democrats never fully support Israel’s fight against Hamas. First it was President Biden and now it is Vice President Harris who will say and do anything to avoid losing their Michigan base.

It is sad that so many American voters support this move. Looking back four years ago, who would have thought that this country would decline so quickly?

Elections have consequences, so be careful when you vote. This is not a matter of Democrats defeating Republicans, this is a matter of survival.

I read that Democratic National Convention attendees could receive free abortions and vasectomies from a mobile truck parked in front of the convention hall.

I wonder if the expected hundred thousand anti-Israel protesters will accept this offer – that they won’t be able to reproduce.

“This is the Vietnam War of our generation”: That’s the dramatic claim made by Hatem Abudayyeh, executive director of the Arab American Action Network, as he breathlessly described the inevitable attempts by anti-Israel groups and individuals to disrupt the Democratic National Convention.
Abu Dayeh’s parallels between opposition to U.S. military involvement in Vietnam in 1968 and today’s displays of hatred for Israel are predictable, if absurd.

Historical accuracy and context don’t matter to people like Abudayeh, who see the DNC event as a tantalizing opportunity to further anger their supporters.

The DNC protesters are fighting the neoliberal establishment that supports and upholds Israel’s genocide in Gaza. They are demonstrating the courage necessary to stand up to our country’s corrupt political system.

According to the Gaza Health Department, more than 40,000 Palestinians have died, and the Democrats’ complicity simply because they support liberal causes is inexcusable.

Politics may be little more than a popularity contest for Harris and her Democratic business puppets. But if it is, she will face a real reckoning in November, when I and many others will skip this election cycle in protest of her complicity in the Holocaust.

If Harris could do so much, why didn’t she do it for three years? All she did was cast the deciding vote on a massive bill that many economists believe is inflationary.

She ignored the border issue; we all know how that turned out. Neither she nor Biden is treating Hamas with the same standards as they treat Israel.
