OpenAI will allow users of the free ChatGPT tier to take up to two images per day using its DALL-E 3 model, the company announced. When the company launched DALL-E 3 in September, the first version was available to users who paid for ChatGPT Plus.
One of the key improvements in DALL-E 3 is that ChatGPT can pose image generation queries, which should make image generation easier.
OpenAI says the ability to create images using DALL-E 3 is “launching,” but you may already have access: At the time of writing, a reporter from The Verge was able to create two images using the ChatGPT Mac app before receiving a notification that the image creation limit for the day had been reached.
The company released a security assessment of its GPT-4o model, added a new person to its board of directors, and CEO Sam Altman received a letter from congressional Democrats demanding answers to questions about OpenAI’s safety.
