wine I am with you He is one of the leading figures in the local wine industry, both in terms of training, teaching and consultancy, and in his own-label wines produced in Western Galilee.
After thirty vintages and a wealth of experience in most shades of the Israeli wine world, I am joined by a new partner, Buchan Winerywho will enhance his abilities and support his decisions in building his own unique style and identity, helping with budgeting, planting vineyards, and possibly building a winery and other new projects in the future. We talked with the winemaker and tasted.
Focusing on the region where he lives and works, the western region of Upper Galilee, Rahat combines this wealth of knowledge and experience with his unique winemaking philosophy and Mediterranean grape varieties.
If I were a more spiritual person, I might wonder what the number three means for passion. Thirty vintages, about thirty thousand bottles produced each year, three whites and three reds, most of which are based on three grape varieties.
Lahat started his involvement in wine in 1995. Lahat is a viticulturist, oenologist and winemaker. Over the years he has devoted himself to wine growing and winemaking, training, teaching and consulting for wineries. Working with wineries across the country has shown him the various colors and qualities of the Israeli terroir, and he has a deep knowledge of Israel’s important wine regions.
After many years of getting to know each other, Rahat has focused most of his work on the Upper Galilee, especially the Western Upper Galilee. Rahat calls this his “personal terroir”, and he gives his essentially personal expression with wines that reflect his philosophy, but with something personal and different that gives them a clearly unique identity.
