Mangochi, July 18: Some social and governance experts in the country have hailed President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for showing good leadership in ensuring that all parts of the country benefit from the transformational programmes currently being implemented by the government.
Renowned governance expert, Ondule Mwakasongula, in an interview with the Malawi News Agency (Mana), commended President Chakwera for launching various development projects across the country to improve the lives of the people.
He stressed that the Malawian people must accept and appreciate the initiatives launched by the Chakwera administration such as the revitalization of the railway system and road infrastructure, agricultural transformation through large-scale farms and other noteworthy projects.
“We see that this railway line is now operational, which will facilitate the transportation of goods and the movement of people.
“The railway line was abandoned by previous governments but President Chakwera revived it,” Mwakasongula said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the President’s vision of economic recovery through the implementation of agriculture, tourism and mining strategies and mega farms, claiming that these were game-changers.
Mwakasungula noted that some people may not appreciate the projects for political reasons and stressed the need to commend the current government.
In a separate interview, social and economic expert Humphreys Mvula expressed admiration for the president’s persistence and adherence to his promises.
“President Chakwera has done an excellent job in development projects. He is one of the presidents who has done his best to develop the country,” Mvula said.
He also commended President Chakwera for including former presidents and vice presidents in various initiatives, something he said had been lacking in the past.
Mvula said that under President Chakwera’s leadership, Malawi had introduced a number of development initiatives that would benefit all Malawians despite political differences.
“We must learn to appreciate the progress initiated by the Chakwera-led government; these projects will benefit all Malawians,” he said.
Mvula called on all politicians to accept President Chakwera as the President of Malawi in order to promote progress and change in the country through the various programs initiated by the current government.
