President Salva Kiir sacked Central Equatoria state deputy governor Sarah Nene Redonto late Thursday, along with several other senior officials.
He replaced her with Paulino Lokudu Obede in a decree broadcast on the state-run South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperative (SSBC). Both were members of the Other Political Party (OPP). Kiir also sacked Central Equatoria State Information Minister Andruga Saverino Mabe and replaced him with Rambo John Paul Isaac. Both were also members of the OPP.
In other decrees concerning Central Equatoria, President Kiir sacked Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Yei River County Commissioner, Emmanuel Khamis Richard Luka, Lenya County Commissioner, and Joseph Mawa John Akuba, the Morobo County Commissioner (SPLM).
He appointed Emmanuel Taban Seme as Commissioner of Yei River County (SPLM), Robert John Morris Lasu as Commissioner of Lenya County (SPLM) and Charles Tata Bullen as Commissioner of Morobo County (SPLM).
Kiir also revoked the appointments of Paulino Rokudu Obed (OPP) and Ukan Donato Deng (OPP, Western Bahr el Ghazal) as members of the upper house of parliament and appointed Sara Nene Redonto (OPP, Central Equatoria) and Natale Uguak Bolo (OPP, Western Bahr el Ghazal) as members of parliament.
In Eastern Equatoria, Kiir removed the National Adviser on Legal Affairs and National Agenda, Siama Naticio Molong, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Joseph Opiyo Wilson, and Torit County Commissioner, Jacob Atari Albano.
He appointed National Agenda’s Legal National Adviser Pierina Lawino Okeny Lobong, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs (OPP) Dr. Peter Gumbo Ungang and Torit County (OPP) Commissioner Christopher Andrew Philipson Abili.
Kiir appointed Daniel Akot Akot, a member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In Opposition, as deputy speaker of the Northern Bahr el Ghazal state parliament.
In the Transitional National Legislature, Kiir revoked the appointments of Jich Chuol Gai from Unity State (OPP) and Phillip Giben Ogal from Western Bahr el Ghazal State (OPP) and replaced them with Moses Pieng Deng from Unity State (OPP) and Peter Joseph Ukel Abang from Western Bahr el Ghazal State (OPP)
The president also removed Nyiel Gordon Kuol from his position as deputy central bank governor and member of the bank’s board of directors and replaced him with Gan Samuel Bogo.
