On July 31, at least eight people were killed in a mine in the village of Nguteré, located 45 km from Bocaranga on the Bozoum axis. According to testimonies, the act was carried out by rebels of the Patriotic Coalition for Change (CPC), who are active in the area. The local government closed the mine in June after an armed attack that killed several people.
