He’s not the only Lord of the Rings actor to speak out about being underpaid for his roles in the fantasy saga, with Orlando Bloom, who plays the elf Legolas, telling an interviewer in 2019 that he was paid just $175,000 for three films.

“Basically, I got free sandwiches,” Blanchett said of her Lord of the Rings salary. Actresses don’t get paid as much as you might think.

The actor was at the show to promote the sci-fi film No Man’s Land, which is set to be released today (Friday).
