Breakdancing, an urban dance that has its roots in hip-hop culture, will make its debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics, joining other sports that have been added in recent years, such as skateboarding, surfing and rock climbing. Can we expect ballroom dancing to be added to the Olympic roster in 2028?
Even more important is the pairing of transgender athletes with female boxers, where transgender athletes enjoy a clear biological advantage. Case in point: Angela Carlini’s exit from the 2023 World Championships bout with Iman Khalif, who had not passed a gender test, after 45 seconds. This is a spectacle we watch, not a sporting event; like an episode of The Hunger Games.

Their names are correct.
As a result, City Council has decided that a revised version of the first phase of the Green Line will only serve 7 stations, down from the originally planned 12 stations. That’s a cost of about $6.3 billion! Basic arithmetic shows that the average cost per station is now $900 million! City Council continues to be crazy and this is truly the best example of their willingness to invest so much “green” money in a public transit line that basically goes nowhere. Apparently, this LRT line is aptly named, much to the dismay of most Calgarians. I can already feel City Council’s hand reaching into my pocket. Again.

Necessity is not negotiable
Someone tell Mayor Gondek that the Green Line is not a necessity. Water is.

We can’t afford it
Why doesn’t our mayor put a moratorium on the new arena and the Green Line until the infrastructure is fixed or replaced? She’s spending $1.2 billion on a new arena instead of fixing our water problems, which she blames on the last council, which she and most of the current council were on.
